We are like-minded people passionate about rescuing street-connected people from challenges such as; homelessness, hunger, sickness, clothlessness, social injustices, and inequities.
“Giving has an oxymoron in it, in that you gain by losing. The fulfilment and satisfaction born from giving is immeasurable, undeniably indescribable and unsharable. The unsharable part makes giving the most selfish thing in the world, because all the fulfillment comes to the giver.”
- Word from Our CEO
become a volunteerShare Some Love Foundation (SSL) was started by David N. Kaguima from a street birthday event back in 11th March 2018.
He thought of celebrating his birthday with; People from whom he’d not expect anything in return and people who’d be impacted more by the little he’d share with them.
The fact that someone would tolerate life in the middle of nowhere, is a testament of the depth of the challenges that pushed them from their homes to streets. They go out to guess and gamble life because in the street there’s no assurance of survival.
The fulfilment that emanated from this act of charity drove the team to do more acts of kindness to the homeless. Friends and other like-minded people started joining the movement, and this demanded an official identity to formalize and expand the operations in adherence to the regulations of the land.
“Initially, we could say that we were going to the streets to ‘show some love’ to our brothers and sisters there, but later realized that it’s better to share than to show. And so we adopted the identity ‘Share Some Love Foundation’.” Founder and CEO, David Kaguima.
SSL became registered as an NGO by the NGO Coordination Board (NGO Bureau) under the Ministry of Interior and Coordination in 2022.
