How Local Organizations Help Street Children in Kenya

Rick Warren, a renowned pastor and global humanitarian once said “Never underestimate the power of a small group of committed people to change the world. It is the only thing that ever has.” The statement is particularly relevant when it comes to the issue of street children in Kenya.
Street children are some of the most vulnerable members of society. They are often victims of poverty, abuse, neglect, and violence. They lack access to necessities such as food shelter, healthcare, and education. They are also at risk of exploitation including forced labor prostitution and drug trafficking.
Share Some Love Foundation Spreads Positivity and Helps Street Children in Kenya
Despite the challenges they face many street children in Kenya have found hope and support through local organizations that are dedicated to helping them. These organizations provide a range of services including education, healthcare counseling, and life skills training.
Understanding the Mission of the Share Some Love Foundation
Share Some Love Foundation, a non-profit Non-Governmental Organization based in Kenya aims to bring love, positivity, and kindness into society. We are a conglomerate of like-minded people, interested in coming to the rescue of people living on the streets, who face different challenges.
Our mission is simple: To positively impact the lives of people living on the streets, by transforming them from the perceived beggars to Feeders of the Nation.
Giving has an oxymoron, in that you gain by losing. The fulfillment and satisfaction born from giving are immeasurable, undeniably indescribable, and unshareable. The unshareable part makes giving the most selfish thing in the world because all the fulfillment comes to the giver.

Founded in 2018, the Share Some Love Foundation has made a significant impact on the lives of street children. Through our programs and initiatives, we have created a community-driven movement that promotes empathy, compassion, and love.
How the Share Some Love is Making a Difference in Local Communities

Share Some Love’s programs and initiatives are centered around making a positive impact on the people living on the streets. One of our primary initiatives is the Street Dining Program, where we prepare food from a central point and transport it to the streets to share with the families living on the streets.
Share Some Love Foundation also mentors teenagers through its mentorship program. We do one-on-one mentorship, especially for teens who need guidance on career and life skills. Through this, we can match the teens with a mentor in line with their career path. The mentor walks with them and checks on them regularly to see their progress and address their needs.
Share Some Love Foundation’s Outreach Efforts
In addition to our local programs, we also have significant outreach efforts. Our initiatives aim to make a difference in society and promote compassion and positive change.
Some of our initiatives include Rescue and Rehabilitation centers. We strive to become the family these children always wish to have. A family that helps them have a taste of what life outside the children’s home or juvenile feels like. We interact with them by doing activities together such as cleaning, cooking, fellowship, etc. It gives them a sense of belonging and acceptance.
Furthermore, the Share Some Love Foundation has an education support program for children living on the streets. We promote education by helping needy students to raise school fees or even acquire some shopping with basic personal effects when going back to school including sanitary towels for girls, inner garments, bathing soap, shoe polish, toothpaste, body oil, etc.

The Importance of Spreading Love and Positivity in Today’s Society
Share Some Love’s mission to spread love and positivity in our society is more critical now than ever. With the various challenges we’ve faced in recent times including the COVID-19 pandemic, economic crises, and social unrest, it’s easier to forget about spreading kindness and positivity.
Share Some Love serves as a reminder that kindness, compassion, and generosity can go a long way in making the world a better place. The organizations are a testament to the power of community and they show us how a small group of committed people can make a significant impact in changing the world.
